The story of our founder Ms. Yeşim and the discovery of Psodex

Over 4 Decades Ago

A young woman named Yasemin woke up one morning with an itch on her arm. At first, she didn't think much of it. However, that evening. she saw that the itchy spot on her arm had become red and irritated. Her skin became redder and redder and began to flake and sting. Eventually, her skin developed painful. cracked, abscesses that alarmed Yasemin.

The Mountain Village

Yasemin was desperate enough to try anything. She traveled to the mountainside village with her husband and six-month old baby girl. Yesim. Yasemin was introduced to the healer who was a scowling and short-tempered man. After just one look, the healer grabbed a bundle of thick leaves and purple flowers from his collection of medicinal herbs. He boiled the plants in hot water until the water became a thick liquid. He poured the liquid into a bottle and gave it to Yasemin. He told her to apply the medicine on her wound every night.

Searching for a Cure

Despite a doctor consultation and countless pills and creams, her rash just got worse. Yasemin's discomfort had escalated to the point where she could no longer do any of the things she enjoyed. Finally, after months of trying and failing to find a cure, Yasemin's sister-in-law suggested Yasemin travel to a remote mountainside village in Asia where there was rumored to be a healer who could cure her sort of skin ailments with a natural remedy.

Her Daily Routine

Incredulous, but willing to try anything. Yasemin and her family went back home. After a few days of using the healer's medicine, Yasemin noticed her wounds seemed slightly less inflamed. By the time the bottle was nearly empty. Yasemin's wounds were much smaller and less painful. She and her family couldn't believe that they had finally found an effective medicine. Each time she came close to finishing a bottle of medicine, she and her family visited the healer to get a refill. Yasemin started incorporating more of her everyday life activities back into her daily routine as her pain diminished.

2016

Dr. Yesim passed away from a heart attack in 2016. Her spirit lives on with us as her amazing work in formulating natural skin care products and medicine remains our foundation that we continue to build upon. Yesim believed that the greatest happiness in life was to be able to use nature's own healing properties to help those in need. Today, this is the philosophy that our company, Psodex, operates with.
